Your daily involvement will span a diverse range of essential activities that underpin smooth daily site operations. Key responsibilities will include preparing construction sites by diligently cleaning and clearing debris, efficiently loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, and providing crucial assistance to skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, masons, and plumbers with their specific tasks. You will also be entrusted with safely operating various hand tools, and potentially certain power tools, always under appropriate supervision. Performing basic maintenance on site equipment, setting up and dismantling temporary structures, and ensuring that all worksite safety protocols and regulations are strictly followed at all times will also be a critical part of your role. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning and clearing debris and hazards.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment efficiently.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, masons, plumbers) with their tasks.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely under supervision.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth as required.
  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment.
  • Strictly follow all safety procedures and regulations on the job site.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary structures like scaffolding and barricades.
  • Support waste management and recycling efforts on site.

Required Skills

  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong, consistent work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Genuine willingness to learn new skills and take direction from supervisors.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety principles (training will be provided).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent attendance record and commitment to showing up on time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent secondary education.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Current First Aid / CPR certification.
  • Completion of a recognized construction safety training program (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights, Green Card).
  • Previous experience working in any physically demanding role (e.g., landscaping, warehouse, manufacturing).
