Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, plumbers, electricians) with various tasks on-site.
- Perform general site clean-up, including debris removal, sweeping, and maintaining an organised workspace.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Dig trenches, excavate foundations, and prepare sites as directed by supervisors.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision (e.g., drills, grinders, jackhammers).
- Set up and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and safety barriers.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with the pouring and spreading of concrete and other materials.
- Support traffic control measures as required.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute positively to a productive work environment.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and experienced team members.
- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Construction Induction Card (White Card) for working on Australian construction sites.
- Previous experience in any manual labour role, even if not specifically construction-related.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Basic knowledge of construction terminology and practices.
