Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in building and heavy construction projects.
- Assist skilled craftspeople (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) with tasks as needed.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and other equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans (basic understanding).
- Measure, cut, and fit materials according to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Worker or similar role.
- Proficiency in operating hand and power tools common in construction.
- Strong understanding of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines.
- Ability to read basic blueprints and interpret instructions.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina, capable of lifting heavy objects and performing strenuous tasks.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Commitment to safety on the job site.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic English communication skills (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Vocational training or certification in a construction-related trade.
- Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, forklifts).
- Valid driver's license.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
