Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
- Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
- Clean and prepare construction sites, including digging trenches, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, and clearing rubble and debris.
- Load and unload building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations on site.
- Assist craft workers, such as carpenters, masons, and electricians, with their tasks.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Measure, cut, and join materials according to specifications.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project objectives are met.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Worker or in a similar role.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety guidelines.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Basic understanding of English for safety and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certification in specific construction trades (e.g., carpentry, masonry, concrete work).
- Experience with heavy equipment operation (e.g., excavators, forklifts).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- OSHA safety training.
