Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
  • Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites, including digging trenches, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, and clearing rubble and debris.
  • Load and unload building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations on site.
  • Assist craft workers, such as carpenters, masons, and electricians, with their tasks.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Measure, cut, and join materials according to specifications.
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project objectives are met.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Construction Worker or in a similar role.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety guidelines.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Basic understanding of English for safety and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certification in specific construction trades (e.g., carpentry, masonry, concrete work).
  • Experience with heavy equipment operation (e.g., excavators, forklifts).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • OSHA safety training.
