Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company delivery vehicle to transport packages to various destinations within Coventry and surrounding areas.
- Efficiently plan and execute daily delivery routes to ensure timely and accurate package delivery.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring all items are secured and handled with care.
- Utilize handheld devices and tracking software for scanning packages, obtaining proof of delivery, and updating delivery status.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local regulations.
- Handle cash or card payments for COD (Cash on Delivery) shipments, if applicable, and reconcile daily funds.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum).
- Clean driving record with no major endorsements.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 25kg repeatedly throughout the day.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using navigation apps and handheld delivery devices.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a courier, delivery, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with Coventry and surrounding area road networks.
