Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of individual and corporate clients, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assess credit risk by analyzing financial trends, industry risks, market conditions, and management capabilities.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports and memoranda, outlining findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for credit decisions.
  • Monitor existing credit accounts for compliance with terms and conditions, identifying potential risks or changes in credit quality.
  • Collaborate with sales, relationship managers, and legal teams to gather necessary information and support lending processes.
  • Ensure all credit activities adhere to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of credit policies and procedures.
  • Present credit recommendations and findings to senior management and credit committees.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial markets, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial ratios.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA designation or enrollment in the CFA program.
  • Master's degree in a relevant financial discipline.
  • Experience with credit risk management software and databases.

  • Previous experience in the financial services or banking sector in Canada.
