Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all phases of crop production, including planting, irrigation, pruning, and harvesting.
  • Monitor crop health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies to senior technicians.
  • Operate and maintain various farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other crop treatments accurately and responsibly, following strict safety guidelines.
  • Collect and record precise data related to crop growth, environmental conditions, and yield performance.
  • Perform general farm maintenance tasks such as weeding, cleaning, and preparing fields.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, agricultural best practices, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and task completion.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic understanding of plant care or a strong willingness to learn agricultural practices.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (paid or volunteer) in agriculture, gardening, horticulture, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary education or courses in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with basic farm equipment and hand tools.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of local crop varieties and growing conditions specific to New Brunswick.
