Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed customs brokers with the preparation and submission of customs declarations and related documentation.
  • Verify and process import/export paperwork, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Data entry of shipment details into customs brokerage software with high accuracy.
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs officials to resolve discrepancies and obtain necessary information.
  • Track and monitor the status of shipments, ensuring timely customs release and delivery.
  • Maintain organized records and digital files of all customs entries and communications.
  • Research and apply current customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements as directed.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document review.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada (or qualify for visa sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of international trade, logistics, or supply chain concepts.
