Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and statistical analyses for biological datasets, including genomics, proteomics, and clinical data.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for data acquisition, cleaning, transformation, and storage of large-scale biological information.
- Collaborate with biologists, researchers, and engineers to understand scientific questions and translate them into data science problems.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and statistical inference to identify patterns, correlations, and insights.
- Present findings and recommendations to scientific and non-scientific stakeholders through clear and compelling reports and presentations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, bioinformatics, and computational biology to continuously enhance methodologies.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of internal tools and platforms for data analysis and model deployment.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with a strong biological component.
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or Bioinformatician.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) and R.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
- Experience working with large and complex biological datasets (e.g., RNA-seq, WGS, proteomics, metabolomics, clinical trial data).
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-driven attitude.
