Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and statistical analyses for biological datasets, including genomics, proteomics, and clinical data.
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for data acquisition, cleaning, transformation, and storage of large-scale biological information.
  • Collaborate with biologists, researchers, and engineers to understand scientific questions and translate them into data science problems.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and statistical inference to identify patterns, correlations, and insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to scientific and non-scientific stakeholders through clear and compelling reports and presentations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, bioinformatics, and computational biology to continuously enhance methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of internal tools and platforms for data analysis and model deployment.

Required Skills

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with a strong biological component.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or Bioinformatician.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) and R.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
  • Experience working with large and complex biological datasets (e.g., RNA-seq, WGS, proteomics, metabolomics, clinical trial data).
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a self-driven attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Previous experience in drug discovery, pharmaceutical research, or personalized medicine.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related fields.
