Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large, complex datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, outliers, and relationships within data.
  • Develop, implement, and validate statistical models and machine learning algorithms for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Design and create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with senior data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
  • Assist in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of models in production environments.
  • Continuously research and experiment with new data science techniques, tools, and best practices.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and results of analyses in a clear and reproducible manner.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to building a culture of high-quality, maintainable code.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and machine learning principles.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, including relevant data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, ggplot2).
  • Experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex findings simply.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Previous participation in data science competitions (e.g., Kaggle) or personal data projects.
  • Exposure to A/B testing methodologies and experimental design.
