Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases.
- Implement and manage comprehensive database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform advanced query and index optimization.
- Ensure database security, integrity, and availability through proactive measures and incident response.
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations to ensure systems are current and secure.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions to support application development.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database design and query efficiency.
- Manage database capacity planning, resource allocation, and storage management.
- Document database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide expert guidance and support for database-related issues and projects.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server.
- Expertise in SQL query optimization, performance tuning, and index management.
- In-depth knowledge of database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Log Shipping).
- Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and database automation.
- Experience with database security best practices and data encryption.
