Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated Delivery Assistant to provide essential van support to our drivers in Sheffield, England. As a Delivery Assistant, you will be an integral part of our delivery team, working closely with experienced van drivers. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the careful loading and unloading of various packages, parcels, and items from the delivery van at our depot and customer locations. You’ll be instrumental in checking items against delivery manifests, ensuring accuracy and preventing discrepancies. Precision and attention to detail are key to verifying that every package reaches its intended recipient without error.
Beyond the physical aspects, this role involves a significant amount of customer interaction. You will be the face of Hiring.zycto, delivering not just packages, but also a positive and professional experience. This includes politely communicating with customers, obtaining necessary signatures, and handling any delivery-related queries with a helpful attitude. You’ll also assist the driver with route navigation, utilizing provided technology and your growing knowledge of local areas to ensure the most efficient and timely deliveries possible.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist van drivers with the efficient and safe loading and unloading of packages and goods.
- Verify packages against delivery manifests to ensure accuracy before dispatch and at customer drop-offs.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, collecting signatures and handling basic inquiries professionally.
- Support drivers with route navigation and planning to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the delivery van throughout the shift.
- Report any delivery issues, delays, or vehicle concerns to the dispatch team promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and road traffic regulations.
- Assist with pre- and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure operational readiness.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 25kg repeatedly.
