Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a grocery delivery van to transport goods to various customer locations.
- Adhere to assigned delivery schedules and routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load and unload grocery items from the van, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Verify order accuracy with customers and obtain necessary signatures or confirmations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a polite and professional demeanour at all times.
- Perform daily vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness of the van, and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS and local knowledge, adapting to traffic and road conditions.
- Handle cash or card payments where necessary, accurately processing transactions.
- Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Proven experience in a delivery or driving role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Sheffield road networks, particularly the Pitsmoor area.
- Strong time management and organisational abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 20kg) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- A clean and tidy appearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with grocery or food delivery.
- Familiarity with handheld devices for order tracking and navigation.
- Experience driving long-wheelbase vans.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle checks.
