Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with the careful loading and unloading of goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring items are secured and optimally organized.
- Safely transport packages from the delivery vehicle to the customer's specified location, adhering to all handling and safety guidelines.
- Verify delivery manifests against physical items to ensure accuracy and report any discrepancies promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Assist the driver with route navigation, actively contributing to efficient and timely deliveries within the Butetown and wider Cardiff area.
- Report any damaged goods, delivery issues, customer feedback, or vehicle concerns to the relevant supervisor or driver immediately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle, ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, traffic laws, and health and safety regulations, prioritizing personal and public safety.
- Collaborate effectively with drivers and other team members to ensure smooth, synchronized, and efficient delivery operations.
- Assist with basic routine vehicle checks, such as fuel levels and tire pressure, and report any maintenance needs as required by the driver.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout a shift, demonstrating good physical stamina.
- Excellent physical fitness, endurance, and manual dexterity for various lifting and carrying tasks.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with drivers, colleagues, and customers.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a proactive, strong work ethic.

- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate manifest verification and record-keeping.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, which may include occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts as operational needs demand.
