Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Delivery Loader – Heavy Goods to join our dynamic team in Canton, Cardiff. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in the safe and efficient movement of large and heavy items within our warehouse and onto delivery vehicles. As a Delivery Loader, you will be at the heart of our logistics chain, responsible for accurately picking, packing, and loading a diverse range of heavy goods, from furniture and appliances to industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload heavy goods from delivery vehicles and into the warehouse.
- Accurately pick and prepare orders, ensuring correct item counts and proper packaging for heavy items.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) safely and proficiently.
- Inspect goods for damage upon arrival and prior to dispatch, reporting any discrepancies.
- Organise and maintain a clean and safe working environment within the loading bay and warehouse.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with dispatch, delivery drivers, and other warehouse staff to meet operational targets.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including stock rotation and storage optimisation.
- Ensure all loaded goods are securely fastened to prevent movement and damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, particularly with heavy goods.
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and move heavy items regularly and safely.
- Strong understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate order processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid forklift (FLT) license (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck).
- Previous experience with manual handling techniques specific to large or awkward items.
