Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the delivery and logistics team.
  • Assist with the scheduling and dispatch of deliveries, ensuring optimal route planning and vehicle utilisation.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, addressing driver queries, customer delivery updates, and general logistics inquiries.
  • Monitor delivery progress in real-time, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues or delays.
  • Process delivery paperwork accurately, including manifests, proof of delivery, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff, drivers, and customer service to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Maintain and update relevant databases and systems with accurate delivery information.
  • Assist in compiling reports on delivery performance, efficiency, and customer feedback.
  • Support the management of vehicle maintenance schedules and compliance documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven administrative or support experience, preferably within a logistics or transport environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional phone manner.
  • Strong organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the Leeds and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with logistics software or transport management systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with HGV driver regulations and working time directives.
  • A levels or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Experience in a customer service role.
