This full-time general labor position is crucial to our operations, involving the safe and efficient dismantling of structures, removal of debris, and preparation of sites for new construction. As a Demolition Worker, you will perform a variety of demanding physical tasks, working with hand tools, power tools, and potentially operating light machinery under supervision. Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual demolition tasks using hand and power tools (e.g., sledgehammers, jackhammers, saws) under supervision.
- Safely dismantle structural components, interior fixtures, and finishes.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Sort and separate debris, waste, and recyclable materials on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Operate basic demolition equipment, such as skid steers or excavators, if certified and authorized.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and potential hazards.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a proactive safety culture.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong understanding and commitment to workplace safety protocols.
- Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in construction or demolition.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in construction, demolition, or general labor.
- Valid Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications.
- G or G2 Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating light construction or demolition equipment (e.g., skid steers, mini excavators).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
