Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our thriving private clinic in Fallowfield, Manchester. Your daily activities will span a wide range, from preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments to assisting during complex procedures and maintaining accurate patient records. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and sterilise instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to strict cross-infection control procedures.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, restorations, extractions, and cosmetic treatments.
  • Perform chairside duties, anticipate the needs of the clinician, and ensure patient comfort throughout appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and appointment details.
  • Provide post-operative instructions and oral hygiene advice to patients.
  • Manage dental inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and in working order.
  • Process and develop dental X-rays (intra-oral and panoramic) and assist with digital imaging.
  • Prepare materials such as amalgam, composite, cements, and impressions.
  • Ensure compliance with all CQC regulations and practice policies.
  • Handle patient queries, scheduling appointments, and managing reception duties as needed.

Required Skills

  • Valid GDC registration as a Dental Nurse
  • Minimum of 18 months of demonstrable experience as a Dental Assistant in a UK dental practice
  • Proficiency in dental software (e.g., SOE Exact, Dentally)
  • Excellent knowledge of cross-infection control and sterilisation procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • High level of professionalism and a patient-first attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced cosmetic or restorative procedures
  • Certification in Dental Radiography
  • Experience with digital dentistry technologies (e.g., intraoral scanners)
  • First Aid certified
  • Familiarity with private practice operations and patient journey management
