Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our thriving private clinic in Fallowfield, Manchester. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilise instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to strict cross-infection control procedures.
- Assist dentists and hygienists during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, restorations, extractions, and cosmetic treatments.
- Perform chairside duties, anticipate the needs of the clinician, and ensure patient comfort throughout appointments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and appointment details.
- Provide post-operative instructions and oral hygiene advice to patients.
- Manage dental inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and in working order.
- Process and develop dental X-rays (intra-oral and panoramic) and assist with digital imaging.
- Prepare materials such as amalgam, composite, cements, and impressions.
- Ensure compliance with all CQC regulations and practice policies.
- Handle patient queries, scheduling appointments, and managing reception duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid GDC registration as a Dental Nurse
- Minimum of 18 months of demonstrable experience as a Dental Assistant in a UK dental practice
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., SOE Exact, Dentally)
- Excellent knowledge of cross-infection control and sterilisation procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- High level of professionalism and a patient-first attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced cosmetic or restorative procedures
- Certification in Dental Radiography
- Experience with digital dentistry technologies (e.g., intraoral scanners)
- First Aid certified
- Familiarity with private practice operations and patient journey management
