Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive oral hygiene assessments, including charting and periodontal screenings.
  • Execute scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures with precision and care.
  • Provide thorough patient education on oral health maintenance, nutrition, and preventative strategies.
  • Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as per scope of practice and clinic protocols.
  • Take, develop, and interpret diagnostic radiographs.
  • Collaborate effectively with dentists and other dental professionals to optimize patient treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control standards.

Required Skills

  • Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in Canada, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of dental hygiene care, including advanced scaling and root planing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Strong understanding of infection control protocols and dental ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with dental software and digital charting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with diverse patient populations and cultural sensitivity.
  • Advanced training or certification in specialized areas (e.g., laser therapy).
