We are searching for an experienced professional passionate about maintaining the integrity and performance of a diverse fleet of heavy trucks, construction equipment, and industrial machinery. As a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, you will be a pivotal part of our operations, ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment that drives critical projects and services across the region.

Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, performing intricate repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and braking systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and braking systems using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs), fluid changes, and tune-ups on a diverse range of equipment, including tractor-trailers, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other construction or industrial machinery.
  • Document all repairs, maintenance activities, parts used, and service hours accurately in the company's maintenance management system.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Order necessary parts and supplies, managing inventory to ensure efficient workshop operations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work orders, address complex issues, and share knowledge.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and component replacement as required.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete necessary repairs to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with MTO regulations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic (minimum 4 years).
  • Thorough knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic equipment and repair manuals.
  • Strong understanding of heavy-duty vehicle and equipment components, including braking systems, suspensions, and drivelines.
  • Ability to perform welding, cutting, and fabrication.
  • Possession of a valid G driver's license, with a DZ or AZ license considered a significant asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal Endorsement (310T) as a Truck and Coach Technician or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
  • Certifications from major engine manufacturers (e.g., Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar).
  • Experience with specific fleet management software.
  • Familiarity with telematics systems and remote diagnostics.
  • Forklift operator certification.
