Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the digital distribution of music content across all major DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, etc.) and digital retailers.
- Develop and implement robust distribution strategies to maximize reach, engagement, and revenue for our artists and labels.
- Oversee metadata accuracy, content delivery, and adherence to platform-specific guidelines and timelines.
- Monitor release schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of audio and artwork assets.
- Act as a primary liaison with digital service providers (DSPs) to foster strong relationships, troubleshoot issues, and negotiate advantageous terms.
- Analyze performance data and provide actionable insights to artists and internal teams on digital trends, consumption patterns, and revenue opportunities.
- Stay informed about industry changes, new platforms, technologies, and best practices in digital music distribution.
- Lead and mentor a small team or coordinate with cross-functional departments, including A&R, marketing, and legal.
- Manage digital rights, copyright, and content protection strategies across distributed catalog.
- Identify and evaluate new distribution channels and emerging market opportunities.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in digital music distribution, preferably within a record label, distributor, or music technology company.
- Deep understanding of digital music platforms, metadata standards (DDEX), and content delivery protocols.
- Proven track record of managing successful music releases and optimizing distribution workflows.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with DSPs and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with various content management systems and digital asset management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Solid understanding of music industry trends, copyright, and digital rights management.
