Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans and policies aligned with business objectives and manufacturing requirements.
- Lead and manage all aspects of the purchasing department, including sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality, reliability, and delivery standards for all procured materials and services.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and performance.
- Implement and optimize inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and operational challenges.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Production, Sales, and Finance to support new product development and operational efficiencies.
- Utilize advanced analytics and market intelligence to forecast demand, identify trends, and inform strategic purchasing decisions.
- Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing team of purchasing professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and company policies.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and procurement software
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
