Job Description

The Director of Purchasing – Manufacturing will play a pivotal role in shaping Hiring.zycto’s strategic procurement initiatives within our dynamic manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, the Director will oversee all facets of our purchasing department, including strategic supplier relationship management, meticulous contract negotiation, inventory optimization, and the implementation of best-in-class procurement practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans and policies aligned with business objectives and manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the purchasing department, including sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality, reliability, and delivery standards for all procured materials and services.
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and performance.
  • Implement and optimize inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and operational challenges.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, Production, Sales, and Finance to support new product development and operational efficiencies.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and market intelligence to forecast demand, identify trends, and inform strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing team of purchasing professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and company policies.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and procurement software
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and process improvements
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial acumen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPSM)
  • Experience with global sourcing and international logistics
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Track record of implementing sustainable and ethical sourcing practices
