Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disaster Relief Worker for a critical contract position based in Langley, British Columbia. This role is fundamental to our mission of providing immediate and effective assistance to communities impacted by emergencies, both locally and potentially across the province. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency alerts and deploy to disaster-affected areas as required.
- Establish and manage emergency shelters, distribution centers, and other relief operations.
- Distribute essential aid items, including food, water, medical supplies, and personal hygiene kits.
- Conduct rapid needs assessments to identify immediate humanitarian requirements of affected populations.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to individuals and families impacted by disaster.
- Collaborate effectively with local emergency services, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations.
- Maintain accurate records of all relief activities, inventory, and beneficiary data.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational guidelines in challenging environments.
- Participate in post-deployment debriefings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Operate essential equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-stress and unpredictable environments.
