Key Responsibilities
- Curate, mix, and perform engaging and diverse music sets tailored to specific event themes and audience demographics.
- Operate and maintain professional DJ equipment, including mixers, turntables/CDJs, controllers, and PA systems.
- Work closely with event organizers, clients, and technical teams to understand event requirements and ensure smooth execution.
- Engage with the audience, build rapport, and respond dynamically to crowd energy and requests.
- Manage and expand a comprehensive music library, ensuring high-quality audio files and a broad range of genres.
- Oversee basic setup, testing, and teardown of DJ equipment at various event locations.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, representing Hiring.zycto with excellence.
- Stay current with music trends, emerging artists, and new DJ technologies and techniques.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of professional DJ experience in live event settings.
- Extensive and up-to-date music knowledge across multiple genres (e.g., Pop, R&B, Electronic, Hip-Hop, Funk, Disco, Rock).
- Proficiency with industry-standard DJ software (e.g., Serato DJ, rekordbox, Traktor) and hardware.
- Excellent beat-matching, mixing, and scratching skills.
- Strong understanding of audio dynamics, sound engineering basics, and troubleshooting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences and clients.
- Reliable transportation to various event locations within and around Edinburgh.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
