Key Responsibilities
- Safely and reliably walk dogs for scheduled periods, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Follow specific client instructions regarding walking routes, feeding schedules, and special needs.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all clients and their pets.
- Provide fresh water and treats (if permitted) during or after walks.
- Clean up after dogs promptly and dispose of waste properly.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and observations about their pet's health and behavior.
- Monitor dogs for any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior and report concerns immediately.
- Manage multiple dog walks throughout the day, adhering to a flexible schedule.
- Ensure the safety of the dogs at all times, including during transport to and from walking locations if applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with dog handling and walking, minimum 6 months.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and safety practices.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical stamina to walk multiple dogs for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with a variety of dog breeds and sizes, including strong or high-energy dogs.
- Previous professional experience in pet sitting, dog daycare, or veterinary assistant roles.
