Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed technical drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and schematics using CAD software.
  • Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and P&IDs to create accurate and compliant drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design intent is accurately captured.
  • Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards and company guidelines.
  • Manage drawing revisions, maintaining comprehensive documentation and version control.
  • Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies, proposing practical and effective solutions.
  • Prepare material lists and specifications as required for procurement and manufacturing.
  • Assist in the development of standard drawing procedures and templates.
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior draughtsmen or team members as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, BS, ASME).

Preferred Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a specific sector such as structural, mechanical, or piping design.
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling and rendering.
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems.
  • Prior experience working on complex, large-scale projects.
