Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with loading, unloading, and securing cargo safely and efficiently.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries against invoices and manifests.
- Navigate routes effectively using provided tools and local knowledge, assisting the driver.
- Communicate proactively with drivers, dispatch, and clients to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and cargo area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip checks of vehicle equipment as directed by the driver.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and interactions.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of Toronto geography and major routes.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a physical labor role or customer service is a plus.
- Valid G Class driver's license (not mandatory for an assistant, but helpful for future growth).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with handheld devices or delivery tracking systems.
