Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and passionate Certified Driving Instructor to join our growing team on picturesque Bowen Island, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and professional in-car driving instruction to students of varying skill levels.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student needs and provincial curriculum standards.
- Evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods as required.
- Educate students on traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and safe driving practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all training sessions.
- Prepare students thoroughly for their Class 5/7 road tests.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained instructional vehicle.
- Stay current with changes in traffic laws, road safety regulations, and instructional best practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding progress and scheduling.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) British Columbia Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Certified Driving Instructor (CDI) license/designation in British Columbia.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) active experience as a certified driving instructor.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to teach and motivate individuals of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations of British Columbia.
- Excellent observational skills and quick reaction time.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching diverse age groups, including teenagers and adult learners.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with administrative tasks related to student scheduling and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with the Bowen Island road network and local driving conditions.
- Multilingualism is an asset.
