Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated Driving Instructor to join one of our esteemed partner driving schools in the vibrant community of Wortley, Leeds. As a Driving Instructor, you will be at the forefront of road safety education, guiding learners through every stage of their driving journey. Your primary role will involve delivering comprehensive practical driving lessons, ensuring each student develops the necessary skills and understanding to pass their driving test and become a competent driver for life. You will cover everything from basic vehicle controls, road positioning, hazard perception, and defensive driving techniques, to navigating complex junctions and understanding advanced road laws.
We are looking for someone who can create a supportive and engaging learning environment, adapting their teaching methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles. You’ll be instrumental in building learner confidence, providing constructive feedback, and meticulously tracking progress. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured driving lessons tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular, constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for both practical driving tests and theoretical examinations, including hazard perception.
- Teach advanced driving skills, defensive driving techniques, and road safety awareness.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and a positive learning environment.
- Ensure the training vehicle is clean, safe, and regularly maintained in accordance with regulations.
- Manage a schedule of lessons efficiently, communicating effectively with students regarding bookings.
- Adhere strictly to all DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) regulations and guidelines.
- Provide guidance and support to nervous or anxious learners, fostering confidence and competence.
Required Skills
- Current and valid DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) certification.
- A clean and exemplary driving record.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability in teaching diverse learners.
- Thorough knowledge of the Highway Code, road safety regulations, and driving test requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- A professional, approachable, and encouraging demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering Pass Plus or advanced driving courses.
- Additional certifications in fleet driver training or similar specializations.
