Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate play-based learning programs for children aged 0-5 years.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Observe, document, and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and portfolios.
- Establish and maintain open, respectful, and collaborative relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's daily activities and developmental milestones.
- Ensure adherence to all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing training.
- Manage classroom resources and materials effectively to support diverse learning experiences.
Required Skills
- Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) License/Certification in British Columbia (or eligibility for provincial licensing).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early learning.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an Early Childhood Educator.
- Experience with emergent curriculum or Reggio Emilia inspired approaches.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to Vancouver's diverse population (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi).
