Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct academic and behavioral support to students individually or in small groups as directed by the lead teacher.
- Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and facilitate student participation in classroom activities.
- Help prepare instructional materials, maintain an organized classroom environment, and manage administrative tasks.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Observe and document student progress, behavior, and challenges, reporting findings to the teacher and relevant support staff.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere for all students.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support student success.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and youth.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of child development and learning principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
