Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and components.
- Learn to interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes under direct supervision.
- Cut, bend, thread, and install various types of conduit and other electrical raceways.
- Pull wire and cable through conduits and other designated openings.
- Install and connect receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and other electrical devices.
- Perform trenching and excavation for underground wiring as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare and stage materials and tools for upcoming tasks and projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and strong willingness to learn the electrical trade from the ground up.
- Exceptional work ethic and a steadfast commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to job sites across the Greater Toronto Area.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding or experience with hand and power tools (e.g., from shop classes or personal hobbies).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Enrollment or demonstrated interest in an accredited Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship program.
