Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician with proven experience in both domestic and industrial wiring to join our expanding team. Based in Paisley, Glasgow, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, ensuring the highest standards of electrical safety, functionality, and compliance. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, bringing your expertise to every task. Key Responsibilities
- Execute installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components in accordance with BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations.
- Conduct thorough testing of electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
- Perform domestic electrical installations, including rewiring, new build installations, consumer unit upgrades, and fault finding.
- Undertake industrial electrical work, including motor control circuits, panel wiring, conduit and trunking installations, and three-phase systems.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan and execute work.
- Ensure all work adheres to relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete necessary documentation, including job sheets, inspection reports, and certification.
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Provide clear explanations and recommendations to clients regarding electrical issues and solutions.
Required Skills
- SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving License
- Proven experience with both domestic and industrial electrical systems
- Strong understanding of current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant ECS/CSCS card (e.g., Gold Card – Approved Electrician)
- Experience with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
- Familiarity with smart home technologies and EV charging point installations
- PAT testing qualification
- First Aid at Work certification
