Job Description

This position offers a foundational understanding of the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to completion, giving you a comprehensive overview of how complex construction projects are brought to life efficiently, economically, and to the highest standards. You will play a key supporting role in reviewing blueprints, technical specifications, and other pertinent project documents to fully understand the scope of work involved. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior estimators in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for various construction projects.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to accurately determine the scope of work and material requirements.
- Support the quantity take-off process for different construction elements and trades.
- Help solicit and analyze competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and cost libraries to ensure current and accurate data.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project details, estimating strategies, and client requirements.
- Conduct basic research on material costs, labour rates, and equipment rental prices to inform estimates.
Required Skills
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications
