Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Ethics Officer to join our team in Port Credit, Mississauga. This critical corporate role requires a seasoned professional to lead, champion, and continuously enhance ethical conduct across all facets of our organization. The Ethics Officer will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing our comprehensive ethics and compliance program, ensuring it aligns with global best practices and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering engaging ethics and compliance training programs tailored for employees at all levels, from new hires to senior leadership. You will proactively identify potential ethical risks, conduct thorough investigations into reported breaches of conduct, and provide expert, impartial guidance on complex ethical dilemmas faced by the organization and its personnel.
Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board, you will offer strategic insights to mitigate ethical risks, enhance our governance framework, and proactively address emerging compliance challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive ethics and compliance program aligned with organizational values and regulatory requirements.
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging ethics training and awareness programs to all employees, including new hires and senior leadership.
- Conduct thorough, impartial, and confidential investigations into reported ethical concerns, policy violations, and potential misconduct.
- Provide expert guidance and counsel to employees and leadership on ethical dilemmas, compliance matters, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, updating internal policies and procedures as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with Legal, HR, Internal Audit, Risk Management, and other departments to integrate ethical standards across all organizational functions.
- Oversee and continuously improve the company's confidential whistleblowing channels, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of concerns.
- Conduct regular ethics risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular reports on ethics program effectiveness, investigation findings, and compliance status for senior leadership and the Board.
- Foster a strong culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the company.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in developing, implementing, and managing corporate ethics and compliance programs.
- Deep understanding of ethical principles, corporate governance frameworks, and relevant local and international regulatory landscapes.
- Exceptional investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Impeccable integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus across various organizational levels and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using ethics and compliance management software or platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in ethics and compliance (e.g., CCEP – Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional, CCEP-I).
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, manufacturing).
- Master's degree in Law, Business Ethics, Corporate Governance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with international ethics and anti-corruption laws (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act).
- Experience working with global organizations and diverse workforces.
