Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a highly visible and reassuring presence to deter unauthorized activities and ensure public safety.
- Monitor designated areas, entrances, and exits for suspicious activities, individuals, or objects.
- Conduct thorough bag checks, metal detector screenings, and pat-downs as per event protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, medical situations, and alarms, escalating as necessary.
- Enforce venue policies, rules, and regulations with tact and professionalism.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting guests with directions, information, and general inquiries.
- Manage crowd flow and access control during ingress, egress, and throughout the event.
- Assist in the safe and orderly evacuation of premises during emergencies.
- Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Collaborate effectively with other security personnel, event staff, and emergency services.
Required Skills
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License (mandatory).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Exceptional observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Proven conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a polite and professional demeanor.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and be alert for extended periods.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in event security, private security, or a related field.
- Experience with access control systems and security technologies.
- Knowledge of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., French) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
