Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a skilled and dedicated Exhaust Technician to join our bustling shop in Jasper Place, Edmonton. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about automotive mechanics, particularly with a strong focus on exhaust system diagnosis, repair, and installation. Your day will involve everything from routine muffler and pipe replacements to complex manifold repairs, catalytic converter replacements, and even custom exhaust fabrications for a variety of makes and models. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot exhaust system issues on various vehicle makes and models.
  • Perform skilled repairs, replacements, and installations of mufflers, pipes, catalytic converters, and other exhaust components.
  • Fabricate and install custom exhaust systems according to customer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of exhaust systems for wear, damage, leaks, and compliance.
  • Perform emissions testing and adjustments as required.
  • Utilize welding equipment (MIG, TIG) and pipe bending tools effectively and safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with service advisors and customers regarding diagnostic findings and repair recommendations.
  • Document all work performed accurately and efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Exhaust Technician or Automotive Mechanic with a specialization in exhaust systems.
  • Strong knowledge of exhaust system components, functionality, and common issues.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG preferred) for automotive applications.
  • Ability to operate and interpret results from automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive Service Technician (Red Seal) certification.
  • Experience with performance exhaust systems and aftermarket modifications.
  • Strong understanding of current emissions systems and regulations (e.g., provincial standards).
  • ASE or equivalent certifications in exhaust/emissions systems.
  • Experience with advanced pipe bending and manipulation equipment.
