Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both interior and exterior, to ensure the security and safety of the premises.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activities or breaches promptly.
  • Assist with access control procedures, including verifying credentials and directing visitors/personnel appropriately.
  • Respond to and report incidents, emergencies, and security breaches in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security activities.
  • Enforce facility policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with senior security personnel and management on security-related matters.
  • Assist in the investigation of minor security incidents and follow up on reported issues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security knowledge and skills.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform patrols for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Security Guard license in Ontario (or willingness to obtain within a probationary period).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role.
  • Knowledge of basic security procedures and best practices.
