Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive trend research, market analysis, and fabric sourcing to inform new collection development.
- Conceptualize and sketch innovative fashion designs, creating detailed technical flats and mood boards.
- Develop comprehensive design packages, including material specifications, color palettes, and trim details.
- Collaborate closely with pattern makers, sample makers, and production teams to ensure design integrity and fit.
- Oversee the fitting process, making necessary adjustments and providing clear feedback to achieve desired aesthetic and comfort.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Present design concepts and collection proposals to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of production processes, cost implications, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and sustainable design practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Strong freehand sketching and technical drawing abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and garment construction
- Excellent understanding of color theory, design principles, and current fashion trends
- Proven ability to translate design concepts into production-ready designs
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating creative vision and technical expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Fashion Designer
