As a Fence Installer Helper, you will work alongside our experienced fence installation crews, assisting with all aspects of fence construction and repair. Your day will be diverse and hands-on, contributing directly to projects that beautify properties and enhance security for our clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. We believe in training our team members from the ground up, providing you with the tools, knowledge, and mentorship needed to grow within the company. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled fence installers with the safe and efficient installation of various types of fences (wood, chain link, vinyl, ornamental).
- Carry and load/unload materials and tools to and from job sites.
- Dig post holes manually or using power augers.
- Mix and pour concrete for fence post foundations.
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, measuring, and marking layouts.
- Help with cutting, assembling, and securing fence components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tool cleanup and site tidiness.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the installation team.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), bending, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn new construction techniques and skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability; showing up on time and ready to work.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record (an asset for potential advancement).
- Familiarity with basic hand tools (shovels, levels, tape measures).
- Previous experience working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
