Job Description

We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Finance Officer to join our dedicated finance team in Ballymena. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable processing.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update budget forecasts, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and expenditure tracking.
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts reconciliations for various ledger accounts.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies in financial records, implementing corrective actions promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and management accounts for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).
  • Support the year-end audit process by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide insightful analysis.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a Finance Officer or similar role with a strong emphasis on budgeting and reconciliation.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate financial information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, or actively working towards a professional accounting qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Prior experience working with an ERP system.
