Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Financial Controller to join our growing team in Belfast’s vibrant Linen Quarter. This pivotal role will see you take full ownership of the financial health and reporting functions of Hiring.zycto, acting as a crucial business partner to senior leadership. You will be instrumental in guiding our financial strategy, ensuring robust financial controls, and driving efficiency across all operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Manage and comply with local, national, and international government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
Required Skills
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (IFRS/UK GAAP).
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the professional services or technology sector.
- Previous experience with a rapidly growing company.
- Familiarity with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software.
- Exposure to international financial reporting and multi-currency operations.
