Job Description

Are you a highly skilled and strategic Fleet Manager with a passion for logistics and a proven track record of optimizing fleet operations? Hiring.zycto is searching for a dynamic individual to take the helm of our fleet in New Westminster. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the company’s fleet, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with all relevant regulations (local, provincial, and federal).
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and control costs.
  • Optimize routing and scheduling to enhance delivery efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and improve overall logistics performance.
  • Oversee fuel management programs, tracking usage, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Utilize GPS tracking and fleet management software to monitor vehicle performance, driver behavior, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage fleet budgets, track expenses, and prepare detailed reports on fleet performance, costs, and key metrics.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drivers and fleet personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in fleet management and logistics.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly licensed, registered, and insured, managing accident reporting and claims processes.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in fleet management, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, maintenance scheduling, and fleet operational best practices.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software (e.g., GPS tracking, telematics systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, HOS, safety standards) and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of staff and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Fleet Management (e.g., NAFA Certified Fleet Manager).
  • Experience with sustainable fleet practices and alternative fuel vehicles.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiation and contract management related to fleet services.
