Job Description
Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a highly skilled and dedicated Fleet Manager to spearhead our vehicle maintenance and staff scheduling operations in Stannington, Sheffield. This pivotal full-time role demands a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to ensure the optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of our diverse fleet, alongside the meticulous scheduling of our operational staff. As a Fleet Manager, you will be the linchpin connecting our logistical capabilities with our service delivery promises, directly impacting our operational success and client satisfaction.
Your primary responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of our vehicles, from preventative maintenance planning and repair coordination to vehicle acquisition and disposal. You will implement robust maintenance schedules, manage relationships with external service providers, and ensure strict compliance with all road transport regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging data and analytics to identify areas for improvement, reduce operational costs, and enhance fleet reliability.
Beyond vehicle management, you will be instrumental in developing and managing efficient staff schedules for our drivers and operational teams. This includes optimizing routes, managing driver availability, adhering to working time directives, and responding dynamically to operational changes and demands. Your ability to forecast resource needs, manage budgets related to fleet operations and personnel scheduling, and implement cost-saving initiatives will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for the fleet.
- Oversee all vehicle repairs, servicing, MOTs, and inspections, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Manage relationships with third-party workshops, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure strict compliance with all UK road transport regulations, H&S guidelines, and environmental standards.
- Optimize vehicle utilization and fuel efficiency through effective monitoring and reporting.
- Develop and manage efficient staff schedules for drivers and operational teams, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Monitor driver hours, working time directives, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Manage fleet-related budgets, control costs, and identify savings opportunities.
- Oversee vehicle acquisitions, disposals, and lease agreements.
- Conduct regular audits of fleet operations and implement corrective actions.
- Lead, mentor, and performance manage a team of drivers and support staff.
- Implement and manage fleet management software and telematics systems.
- Respond to and manage vehicle breakdowns and incidents efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management, including vehicle maintenance and operations.
- Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation, H&S, and compliance.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and telematics systems.
