As a Flooring Installer Helper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of our projects. Your daily tasks will involve everything from preparing job sites and assisting with material handling to learning the intricacies of cutting, fitting, and laying different flooring materials such as hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet. This role requires an individual who is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the preparation of job sites, including clearing furniture and existing flooring.
- Help transport and unload flooring materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Learn and practice basic flooring installation techniques under direct supervision.
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, and performing minor repairs.
- Measure, cut, and trim flooring materials accurately to fit spaces.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment daily to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Dispose of old flooring materials and debris according to company and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on all job sites.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients in a professional manner.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions diligently.
- Basic understanding of measurements and ability to use a tape measure.
- Reliable transportation to and from our Englewood office/depot.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance record.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in a physically demanding role or construction environment (even if informal).
