Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a passionate and skilled Florist to join our vibrant shop team in Western Gap, Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Design and create a wide variety of floral arrangements, bouquets, corsages, and custom pieces for various occasions, adhering to client specifications and artistic standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including conducting consultations, advising on floral choices, processing orders, and handling sales transactions.
- Receive, process, and condition fresh flower deliveries to ensure longevity and quality, including proper hydration, trimming, and storage.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of the floral shop, including merchandising displays, inventory management, and general upkeep.
- Assist with inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing flower stock to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, and manage daily sales reports.
- Support with event setup and breakdown for larger floral installations as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1.5 years) as a Florist or Floral Designer in a retail shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of flower varieties, seasonality, care, and handling techniques.
- Exceptional creative flair and an artistic eye for color, texture, and design principles.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy buckets of flowers, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in floristry or horticulture.
- Experience with various floral design styles (e.g., traditional, modern, Ikebana).
- Familiarity with local flower markets and suppliers in the Toronto area.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer skills.
