Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our thriving operations team in Lenzie, Glasgow. This is a critical full-time role where your precision and efficiency will be instrumental in the smooth flow of goods within our busy warehouse and distribution centre. We are looking for an individual with a valid forklift license, a proven track record of safe operation, and a commitment to maintaining our high standards of service.

As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials, products, and equipment throughout our facilities. Your day-to-day tasks will involve loading and unloading delivery vehicles, stacking goods in designated storage areas, and preparing orders for dispatch. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklift trucks (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
  • Load and unload goods from vehicles, ensuring accurate quantity and condition checks.
  • Perform daily pre-operation safety checks on forklifts and report any defects immediately.
  • Stack and organize goods in designated warehouse areas with precision and efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory management, including scanning and documenting material movements.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment within the warehouse and yard.
  • Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff and management to achieve operational goals.

Required Skills

  • Valid and current Forklift Operator License (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR accredited).
  • Proven experience operating various forklift types, particularly counterbalance and/or reach trucks.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for inventory documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or scanning technology.
  • Previous experience in a busy logistics or distribution environment.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Manual Handling training.
  • A good understanding of inventory control practices.
