As a Forklift Helper, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, supporting certified forklift operators and the wider warehouse team. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting with the safe and efficient movement of goods, ensuring that materials are correctly staged, organized, and prepared for transport or storage. This role is physically dynamic, requiring you to handle various types of inventory, utilizing pallet jacks, dollies, and other manual handling equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist certified forklift operators in loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Manually move products, materials, and equipment using pallet jacks, dollies, and other non-motorized equipment.
- Stage and organize materials in designated warehouse areas for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists and order forms.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including sweeping and clearing aisles.
- Perform pre-shift checks on manual material handling equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or damaged goods to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support inventory counting and cycle count activities as needed.
- Help prepare orders for shipment, including wrapping and labeling.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail for inventory accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations (or willingness to learn).
