Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete cycle of international freight movements (Air, Sea, Road) from booking to delivery.
- Prepare, check, and process all necessary shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, customs entries, and dangerous goods declarations.
- Liaise effectively with clients, carriers, overseas agents, and customs authorities to ensure smooth operations.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and book cargo space efficiently.
- Track and trace shipments proactively, providing regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, and other issues promptly and professionally.
- Manage costing, invoicing, and ensure accurate billing for all services rendered.
- Provide expert advice to clients on shipping options, regulations, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and utilize freight forwarding software for operational tasks.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Freight Forwarder in an international setting.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, Destin8, CNS Compass).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in documentation.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
