Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Front Desk Clerk to join our team for the Night Shift in Marpole, Vancouver. You will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional service with a friendly and professional demeanor, handling check-ins and check-outs, and responding to inquiries and requests. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, even during late hours, and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes.
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally, directing calls and handling guest inquiries and requests.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints with empathy and efficiency, escalating issues as necessary to management.
  • Process payments, manage cash float, and accurately balance daily transactions.
  • Monitor security cameras and perform routine property checks to ensure guest safety and property security.
  • Prepare daily reports, process incoming faxes and mail, and maintain accurate guest records.
  • Perform light administrative duties and prepare wake-up calls as requested.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby area throughout the night.
  • Communicate effectively with morning shift staff, providing detailed handover reports on overnight activities.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a hotel or similar environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and maintain composure under pressure
  • Reliability and punctuality for night shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a night auditor or front desk clerk on a night shift
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS)
  • Knowledge of local attractions and services in Vancouver
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Mandarin, Punjabi, French)
